Monday Morning Laziness 20th February, 2006

Well, it has been a week since my last post, so thought I’d better put something up here. Anyway, the topic at hand is my laziness on a Monday morning. Most days of the week I can happily get up at 7am and be in work for about 8:30-8:45am. However, due to bad sleeping practices on the weekend (staying up late and getting up late) I tend to be quite tired come 7am on a Monday morning. On top of this, I got a new alarm clock recently and it has a snooze feature, where you can set how long it should let you snooze for. This is not a good idea. Normally, it is a fixed amount and you keep being woken by it. In this case, press it once and you get 5 minutes. However, if you tap it multiple times, you get more and more time before it goes off. 2x = 10 mins, 3x = 15 mins, etc. all the way up to 1 hour. Way too easy to add an extra 30 mins sleep and then run late.
Shogun 13th February, 2006

This weekend, Alicyn and I watched the entire 9 hours of Shogun. Amazing series! If you haven’t seen it, I would highly recommend it. I read the book when I was quite young and it is amazing just how much I remembered of it as I watched it this weekend. It is also a testament to the accuracy of the rendition that it brought back so many memories! Needless to say, if you haven’t seen it previously, I would classify it as a “must see”! The book is very good as well.
Anyone for Tennis? 1st February, 2006

OK, the tennis playing continues and Alicyn and I now seem to be getting into the swing of it. Had a fun game yesterday evening and although my back did ache quite a bit afterwards, I felt better for it overall. We have now got to the point where we can serve, return the ball and even have the occasional volley. The thing still lacking is energy and the ability to move around the court at speed. Hopefully, as time progresses, we will get fitter and more energetic. Now to find some doubles partners!
On a side note, the whole reason we are doing this is an attempt to become fitter. We are now getting the exercise, but the diet is still lacking. With this in mind, I bought the smallest sandwich I could find for lunch. Can’t imagine it will do much in the way of filling me, but I might feel healthier
